Materials Used
Cowhide:
This leather is originally from Argentina and it is recognized worldwide for its incredible quality. This excellent raw material makes a difference in the quality of the final products and gives them life long durability.
Sheep Skin:
It is a peculiar type of leather with interesting characteristics. Its soft texture and lightness allows us to create different craft techniques.
Suede: It is obtained from the most recognized tanneries in the Republic of Argentina, which guarantees an excellent tanning process and more durability. Its wide range of colors allows to mix different tones and shades, achieving a unusual and lively product.
Knits:
Chauar Knit: The Caraguatį is a vegetal fiber used by indigenous from the Chaquenos villages located in the North of Argentina. This type of knit is attained through the yarning, pleading knots, and various weaving procedures. The meaning of the designs varies according to the traditions and the different criteria of each artist.
Wood:
In the creation of some of our products we utilize small pieces of wood that have been previously engraved giving the product a truly unique artistic touch.
Inks:
We work with inks, ointments and alcohol-based anilines of excellent quality obtaining well-defined, firm and long-lasting colors.
Engraving Tecniques:
Pyrography: The craft of decorating wood or leather with previously heated tools. It is a versatile art form that allows the artist to create a vast range of images on different surfaces.
Engraving: this is a technique, where the leather is incised with a chisel and a hammer. Great skills are required to manipulate the chisel as it is pushed at different angles and degrees of pressure to produce a variety of truly vivid designs.
